Why don’t you use oil in your Massage/Bodywork therapy?

Answer:

I work with your body’s energy using energy patterns similar to those used in acupuncture; however, I do not use needles. Using oil prevents me from feeling and moving energy and prevents me from manipulating your body to realign it. Because I work deep into your muscles, you need to wear clothes to prevent my therapy from irritating your skin. I provide a type of massage that is similar to the type promoted by Oprah Winfrey on her website.

How often should I receive Massage/Bodywork therapy?

Answer:

The frequency of your Massage/Bodywork therapy depends on why you need therapy. If you need Massage/Bodywork therapy to address a chronic condition or injury, you may require weekly sessions for a specified amount of time. Such a schedule enables you to continuously build on the previous session's benefits and healing.

If you are an athlete in training, I will create a Massage/Bodywork program specific to your events and training program.

If you are seeking Massage/Bodywork therapy as preventative care, to de-stress, or simply to relax, you may find a once a month schedule sufficient to achieve your goals.

You may increase the frequency of your Massage/Bodywork therapy during times of stress. You may also benefit from daily massage; however, this is not often practical or financially feasible.

Is Massage/Bodywork therapy painful?

Answer:

Massage/Bodywork therapy should not hurt. You will get a better result if you do not feel pain during therapy. You will not receive a better session if it hurts. The pressure should feel good. I will encourage you to let me know if you feel pain, so that I can change what I am doing or lighten the pressure.
